I’m finding more energy to devote to teaching yoga. This past year, I taught one evening yoga class and have started to deepen the teachings, teaching more authentically.
I was actually scared to teach authentically. I thought students may think I was weird, or going too deep, or even being offensive by speaking about Spirit, or emotions, or old wounds.
Slowly slowly slowly, I started to introduce my authentic teachings to the class and trust that the students who are attracted to my class are there for what I have to offer. And I am more enjoying the class as a result.
This last session, I’ve been focusing on a different chakra (energy centre) in the body and building a theme around each chakra. It’s been deep and great for me, and hopefully for the students as well.
Before I delved in, I kept getting the message “Go deeper still…. Go deeper still…” And, so I am.
I’ve recently found a new location to teach — Illusion Studio – it’s a belly dance studio and a lovely and large space. I loved the last space that I was in, but it was a small space, and I’m looking forward to expanding into a larger space.
I’m also going to offer a Friday morning class. This one will be an Ashtanga class (a flow class), and will have a different flavour than my Tuesday evening class.
I’m excited about it! If you want to check out my yoga website, visit it here.
